Refuge de Laverq
A little picturesque refuge with no custody is in a traditional building of the hamlet: tel. 33 (0)4 92855817, (0)4 94614665, keys and safekeeping of the place are entrusted to the farm of Les Clarionds, tel. 33 (0)4 92855367).

The itinerary goes on with the GR 56, with a way along the ridge of the Tête de Vescal (2515 m) offering a panoramic view on various significant peaks of the area. On the east there are Le grand Cheval de Bois (2838 m) and Le Petit Cheval de Bois (2754 m), Le Chapeau du Gendarme (2561 m) and Le Pain de Sucre (2560 m). On the west it is possible to see the calcareous tops of the Grande Séolane (2909 m). On the north the scenery sweeps the horizon from Barcellonette and the Ubaye valley, while on the south it is possible to see the ski stations of La Foux d’Allos, at the head of the valley of Verdon. The path touches in sequence the Col del la Sestrière (2461 m) and the Tête de la Sestrière (2575 m). It then descends with a way along the mountainside, crossing a number of steep impluviums equipped with fixed ropes, at the head of the deep valley of the Blanche de Laverq up to the equipped stopping area of Plan Bas (1839 m). You carry on along the valley floor, firstly walking on a path, then on a dirt road up to the Abbaye de Laverq (1550 m).
